SBMHC Welcomes Liza Piekarsky, LMHC, CAP, NCC, as Director of Clinical Outreach

The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center team is thrilled to announce that Liza Piekarsky has joined our team as Director of Clinical Outreach. Liza is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addiction Professional, National Certified Counselor, and a Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida with a focus on therapeutic interventions for teens, young adults, and families. She is highly skilled in several therapeutic approaches, including Motivational Interviewing, Solutions Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma Informed Care, among others. She is also the Southeast regional director of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association and the president of Broward Mental Health Counselors Association

Liza focuses on patients fighting depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and other behavioral concerns. Her specialization in family conflict resolution aligns perfectly with the mission of SBMHC, which believes that the family is the cornerstone of healing. Liza is also a proponent of physical health related to enhancing mental well-being. Her therapeutic approach blends therapy with exercise, sports, and general physical activity to improve the therapeutic process.

“The addition of Liza’s skillset and track record of clinical leadership reflects our prioritization of exceptional clinical care above all else,” says Jaime Blaustein, CEO and co-founder of SBMHC. “Her passion for serving patients and families and her connectivity throughout the treatment landscape further bolsters our renowned and growing program.”

Treatment for mental illness and substance abuse is effective, but we all know that patients often require several visits to treatment to get on a path to long-term sobriety. The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center is dedicated to improving the therapeutic process and getting our patients to mental and physical well-being sooner by enhancing the traditional therapeutic process. We combine the most effective evidence-based mental-health-first therapies with a team that truly cares about our patients’ success during treatment and for life afterward.

We look forward to incorporating Liza’s many skills to benefit our patients and their families.
